You love your car and now you want to get a special or personalized plate for it. What is the difference between a special and personalized plate? How do you get them?
Personalized Plate
A personalized plate is a license plate that you personalize what letter or number combination is printed on it. You can personalize a standard plate or a special plate. For the most part, plates may be personalized with a letter/number combination of your choice. The maximum number of characters allowed (letters and/or numbers) varies with plate type. Personalized plates in most plate styles may be ordered online at servicearizona.com. This is the easiest and fastest way to process your request. All personalized plate choices must be approved for appropriate content. It will take about 4 to 6 weeks to process your personalized plate.
Some plates are issued in pairs (front and back of the vehicle) and some are issued as a single plate, depending on the type. If your plate is personalized, two plates will be issued for full-size and one for small-size, regardless of the plate type.
Special Plate
A special plate is a license plate that has a special background that you select. There are several different special plates that you can choose from and have mailed to you.
